Blog Intro

I probably should have started this a long time ago.

Due to my lack of commitment to diaries, I "nah"-ed at the idea of starting a journal/diary for this new chapter of my life. On the 12th of August 2017, I flew to the United States to begin my four-year college journey, far far away from home. So as much as I've told myself I could never commit to a daily diary update, I know three or more years from now, future me will kick past me in the shins for not documenting this important phase in my life.

Is the college phase of life really that big of a deal? Idk. People say college years are the best years of your life, especially if you're studying abroad, because it gives you the unique opportunity to discover yourself, your interests, and the world outside your bubble of familiarity. I don't think I really have any "discovering myself" to do - I think I know myself pretty well to not try and do crazy things, but granted, it could just be 18 year old me thinking there's nothing much to discover within. At 18, you don't know enough, even if you think you do. The only thing I can imagine discovering anew is what I do with my spare time and my fashion choices.

I've decided to approach the diary thing a much different way than I have before - only update when there's is something to update, and write very short entries. The minimalistic, practical way if you will (which is also the two things I would like to define myself as). Originally I wanted to just jot it down on a notebook - I have too many notebooks anyways - but a blog entry will let me upload photos, which is way better. I don't consider this journal to be very private, so if my family or friends want to know what I am up to, they can easily access it. Hi, if you're someone I know irl, thanks for dropping by.

As I am writing this, I have already finished a college quarter. Quite a lot has happened in between 12th of August and 21st of December, so I'll just summarize what had happened by the month for this time period. Yeah. Exciting, I know.
